The Story Behind "A Flower Story"
THE STORY:
My newest 3D floral collection “A Flower Story” is inspired by memories of childhood wanderings through the pastures surrounding our home, picking colorful wildflowers along the way, and creating a visual journal of my mini adventure. So fun!
At the journey's end, I was beyond excited to present them to my mother - who loved wildflowers arranged loosely in a mason jar on the kitchen sink window sill more than any structured arrangement.
Kindergarten Me
What a beautiful memory. I loved making them and she loved receiving them.
Fast forward (a couple of years) … the wildflowers are tiny painted flowers with little sprinkles of paint and the mason jar is a clear acrylic box.
And, I'm reminding myself today to hold things loosely and gather the beauty along my current path.
WHAT I LOVE ABOUT THIS COLLECTION:
I love creating: the endless color combinations, the delicate flowers with unruly paint splashes combined with the smooth and shiny edges of the acrylic frame.
I love: the texture, the ability to to create the different color palettes each time, the way the clear frame modernizes and elevates it, and how the dimension stands out as something different.
