Art Marketing 101: Meet My Email Provider

Okay. Everyone is going to roll their eyes and moan - like when the teacher gives the class a really big assignment over Christmas break. But listen up, class. Email list. It truly is important.
True confession. I blew off my email list in the beginning of my art journey because I personally don’t like getting a bunch of emails. (And I just wanted to paint!) But, a couple of years ago, I made a New Year’s Resolution for my business: to develop and utilize my email list. And, let me tell you that it has paid off. The last few collections I have released have almost sold out exclusively to my email list. Woo!

I use FLODESK to create my emails because the email templates are so beautiful and I feel like they fit my brand. I treat each email as a piece of art. Not just marketing.
FLODESK helps me create emails more quickly because I do not have to spend time creating beautiful graphics, importing them, choosing fonts and colors, etc. It really IS the perfect email platform for an artist.
As most artists, I typically release my art in collections. Prior to the release, I promote my collections through email. And, I allow my email list early access shopping with a PASSWORD that is delivered to their inbox the morning of the release.
Please note, my website is hosted on Squarespace and I use Squarespace’s shopping e-commerce platform. I love it! No complaints there.

Send emails when you can but make sure they are relevant and interesting. I do not send emails weekly. Let’s all take a deep breath and just do the best we can.
